# CONSTITUTION OF THE DIGITAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC

## PREAMBLE

We, the citizens of this digital democratic republic, in order to form a more perfect union, establish direct democracy, provide for the common welfare, secure the blessings of liberty, and promote innovation and community, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the Digital Democratic Republic.

## ARTICLE I: STRUCTURE OF GOVERNMENT

### Section 1: Branches of Government
The government shall consist of three separate branches:
1. Executive Branch - President, Vice President, and Cabinet
2. Legislative Branch - Unicameral Congress
3. Judicial Branch - People's Courts

### Section 2: Separation of Powers
Each branch shall operate independently with checks and balances as outlined in this Constitution.

## ARTICLE II: THE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH

### Section 1: Congress Composition
- Congress shall be unicameral
- Total membership shall be 10% of the entire population
- Each zone shall elect 10% of its population to serve as congressional representatives
- All congressional members shall serve monthly terms with elections held every month

### Section 2: Representative Duties
Congressional representatives shall:
- Act as governors for their respective zones
- Serve as communication channels between citizens and federal officials
- Resolve zone-level issues before escalating to federal level
- Facilitate better communication with the President and higher-ranking officials

### Section 3: Congressional Powers
Congress shall have the authority to:
- Advise the President on matters of governance
- Facilitate inter-zone communication and cooperation
- Assist in the implementation of federal policies
- Serve as mediators in zone-level disputes

## ARTICLE III: THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH

### Section 1: President and Vice President
- The President and Vice President shall be elected monthly by popular vote
- No term limits shall be imposed
- The President shall serve as chief executive and head of state

### Section 2: Presidential Powers
The President shall have the authority to:
- Veto any law passed by public referendum
- Make executive decisions not in conflict with this Constitution
- Make decisions not causing discomfort to the people
- Appoint Cabinet members to assist with specific issues
- Call for constitutional amendments requiring 3/5ths vote for passage

### Section 3: Veto Power
- The President may veto any law
- A presidential veto may be overturned by 33% of the public voting against the veto
- Overturned vetoes shall become law immediately

### Section 4: Cabinet
- The President shall appoint Cabinet members to assist with specific named issues
- Cabinet members shall serve at the pleasure of the President
- Cabinet appointments shall not require congressional confirmation

## ARTICLE IV: DIRECT DEMOCRACY

### Section 1: Citizen Lawmaking
- Citizens shall directly vote on all laws
- A law shall pass when 50% of the population votes in favor
- No law shall be passed without majority public approval

### Section 2: Constitutional Amendments
- Citizens may propose constitutional amendments directly
- Citizen-proposed amendments shall pass with 50% public approval
- The President may call for constitutional amendments requiring 3/5ths vote for passage

### Section 3: Elections
- All elections for President, Vice President, and Congressional representatives shall be held monthly
- All citizens shall have the right to vote regardless of age

## ARTICLE V: THE JUDICIAL BRANCH

### Section 1: Judicial Appointment
- Judges shall be appointed by the people through direct election
- Judges shall serve as long as the public continues to approve of their service

### Section 2: Judicial Terms and Removal
- Judges shall face monthly approval votes by the public
- Judges may be removed if 25% of the community votes that they are not serving their duties well enough
- Removed judges may not be reappointed until approved by the public

### Section 3: Judicial Powers
- The judiciary shall interpret this Constitution and all laws
- Judges shall handle all legal disputes and criminal matters
- The judiciary shall oversee impeachment proceedings

### Section 4: Impeachment
- Impeachments shall prevent individuals from running for office again
- Impeachment shall function as a prison sentence determined by the people
- Impeachment sentences shall be served as determined by judicial ruling
- Impeached individuals may not hold office until their sentence expires

## ARTICLE VI: ECONOMIC SYSTEM

### Section 1: Currency
- The official currency shall be a cryptocurrency managed by the community
- The currency shall be used for exchange of services within the community
- Currency management shall be overseen by designated community members

### Section 2: Economic Freedom
- All citizens shall have the right to participate in the economic system
- Property rights shall be protected
- Free exchange of services shall be encouraged

## ARTICLE VII: ZONES

### Section 1: Zone Organization
- The country shall be divided into zones of approximately equal size
- Each zone shall have similar rules with slight variations permitted
- Zones shall function similarly to states in the USA

### Section 2: Zone Governance
- Each zone shall elect representatives to Congress
- Zone representatives shall handle local issues before federal escalation
- Zones shall maintain autonomy in local matters not conflicting with this Constitution

## ARTICLE VIII: RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

### Section 1: Citizen Rights
- All citizens shall have the right to vote in all elections
- All citizens shall have the right to propose laws and amendments
- All citizens shall have the right to participate in debates
- All citizens shall have the right to free expression
- All citizens shall have equal protection under the law

### Section 2: Citizen Responsibilities
- All citizens shall participate in the democratic process
- All citizens shall respect the rights of others
- All citizens shall contribute to the community welfare
- All citizens shall abide by this Constitution and all laws

## ARTICLE IX: AMENDMENT PROCESS

### Section 1: Citizen Amendments
- Citizens may propose amendments directly
- Proposed amendments shall pass with 50% public approval

### Section 2: Presidential Amendments
- The President may call for constitutional amendments
- Presidential amendments shall require 3/5ths public vote for passage

## ARTICLE X: GENERAL PROVISIONS

### Section 1: Supremacy
This Constitution shall be the supreme law of the land, and all government officials shall be bound by oath to support it.

### Section 2: Implementation
All provisions of this Constitution shall be implemented immediately upon ratification.

### Section 3: Ratification
This Constitution shall be ratified upon approval by 50% of the population.

## RATIFICATION

This Constitution was established by the will of the people to create a digital democratic republic that ensures direct participation, efficient governance, and community prosperity for all citizens.
